LesBlogs: Mena Trott - Day 2 Keynote on Civility in Blogging

* Civility in blogging - bloggers have quickly trailed the mainstream journalistic mentality of 'if it bleeds it leads' - Can we get more civil as a group of bloggers
* People are meaner in blogs than in person. What happened to blogs being a human voice and something 'personal'
* References a Jeremy Zawadny post of late on KTA, SixApart's PR firm
* And we wonder why the Forbes article is so well hyped "online lynch mobs" we are, says Forbes. Unfortunately for us, the Forbes article has an element of truth.

The reality of the situation is this, but it's saved for the end of the article...Bloggers bled, so bad blogging led...

[Shel Israel] It's about time someone said this from the podium. Bloggers taking potshots is not moving us forward into a new medium.
[Marc Canter] While Marc can ignore Jeremy or Forbes, the real world (back to Mena) doesn't have the luxury of being so involved in the web and knowing what and who to ignore and what and who to heed. There are too many nuances for us to think that the general population can pick this stuff up.
