Consant Reminder: Generate Leads from the Web

Simple ideas, but when you see how few companies actually do this well, it bears repeating over and over.

Man the Site.
Offer live chat on your site so a visitor's questions can be answered on the spot, which may draw them in further. Not enough staff for that? Companies, such as LivePerson.com, offer online operators for about $99 a month per operator.

Analyze the Site.
Not enough sales teams take the time to analyze site traffic. Make sure to evaluate who is visiting your site, how long visitors stay, and what pages they hit most often. Funny, David Ogilvy wrote about this same issue in the 80's when he wrote Ogilvy on Advertising. It's really a shame that not much has changed.

E-Mail Is Not Enough.
Don't turn visitors off with just e-mail contacts. Include phone and fax numbers, and make sure those numbers appear on every page of the Web site, so visitors don't have to hunt for a company's information.

$99 a month, really, why would I not do this? Great tip Dana!
