The nominees were posted on MarketingSherpa's Web site where they were judged on personality, usefulness, writing style, and design, as well as whether Internet users would return to the site. According to MarketingSherpa, the competition was tough, with more than 800 of its readers examining and voting on the 29 nominated sites.

“To me, this is another form of encouragement from my peers to keep writing, and acknowledges that what I’ve contributed to the Internet marketing community over the past 18 months has been of value,” said VanDen Heuvel.
